KVS Admission 2025-2026: Online Form Started for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has officially started the admission process for the academic session 2025-2026. Every year, thousands of parents look forward to getting their children admitted to these central government schools because of their high-quality education, low fees, and nationwide presence. This year too, admission forms are now available online for Class 1, while seats for higher classes will be offered based on availability. Who Can Apply for KVS Admission?

KVS gives priority to the children of:

  • Central Government employees
  • Defence personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force)
  • Employees of State Government, PSUs, and Autonomous Bodies
  • General public (only if seats are available)

Preference is always given in the above order. If a government employee has been transferred at least once in the last 7 years, they will get additional priority in the admission process.

Age Limit for Admission (As on 31 March 2025)

Your child’s age must match the following criteria to be eligible for KVS admission:

  • Class I: 6 years or more but less than 8 years
  • Class II: 7 years to less than 9 years
  • Class III: 7 years to less than 9 years
  • Class IV: 8 years to less than 10 years
  • Class V: 9 years to less than 11 years
  • Class VI: 10 years to less than 12 years
  • Class VII: 11 years to less than 13 years
  • Class VIII: 12 years to less than 14 years
  • Class IX: 13 years to less than 15 years
  • Class X: 14 years to less than 16 years

Note: Even children born on 1st April will be eligible.

Important Terms to Know

  • Central Government Employee: A regular employee who receives salary from the government’s central funds.
  • Transferable Employee: If the parent has been transferred from one location to another (20 km or more away) in the last 7 years, they are counted as transferable.
  • Autonomous Bodies/PSUs: Any organisation where the government has more than 51% share, like LIC, SBI, BHEL, etc.
  • Single Girl Child: A girl who has no siblings (only child of her parents) will get extra benefit in admission.

Documents Required

Here are the main documents needed during admission:

  • Birth certificate of the child
  • Residence proof
  • Passport size photo
  • Parent’s service certificate (if applicable)
  • Transfer certificate (for higher classes)
  • SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate (if applicable)

How to Apply Online for KVS Admission 2025

Follow these steps to complete your child’s admission form:

  • Go to the official KVS website: kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in
  • Click on “New Registration” for Class 1 admission
  • Read the instructions and agree to proceed
  • Fill in all personal details of child and parents
  • Upload required documents
  • Review the form and click on “Submit
  • Download and save the application for future use

Only online forms are accepted for Class 1. For Classes 2 to 10, you have to contact the respective school if seats are available.
